ARTIST HUB INSTRUCTORS Sheila Ramos - Artist Hub of Ocala, Director The Director of the Artist Hub of Ocala, Sheila has over ten years of experience working as the Recreation & Leisure Coordinator and as the Coordinator of Art & Cultural Programs at the CF Institute at CFCC. She has five years of experience as an early childhood development instructor, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and an Associate Degree of Arts. Connie Ferreira -International & Local Artist, Teacher Connie studied fine art at Central Florida Community College with Professor Jack Thursby. Connie lived in Aveiro, Portugal for a number of years and created a series of paintings named "Reflections on the Ria", of which many can be found in private collections in several states in the U.S. and in Portugal. Connie has taught at CFCC Continuing Education for the past five years and now teaches at the Artist Hub since its opening. Connie instructs classes for preschoolers, children K-8th grade and adult art classes. Connie is also a polymer clay artist and is a member of the Polymer Guild and other art organizations. The mediums that Connie instructs are watercolors, oils,acrylics, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, polymer clay and pottery. Chuck Strissel - Local Artist and Teacher Chuck studied art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and also the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago and attended Northwestern University in Athens, Chicago. Chuck Strissel has taught art classes in Chicago and now in Ocala. Chuck taught classes at CFCC Continuing Education for the past three years, OTOW, The Villages and now at the Artist Hub. He is a United States Coast Guard painter and is also a Southeastern committee chairman of the U.S. Coast Guard Art Program and Signature Member of the International Society of Marine Painters. Chuck will share his personal works and stories while you explore your painting and drawing mediums. He is also a Signature Member of the Illinois Watercolor Society and past President and founder of this organization. The mediums Chuck instructs are oil, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, charcoal, Sculpture and watercolor pencils. Anita Anderson - International Artist, Local Artist and Teacher Anita Anderson has taught classes for CFCC Continuing Education for the past 18 years and has been at the Artist Hub since its opening. Anita belongs to Gallery East Artist Co-op and teaches classes and displays her art with fellow artists. Anita will have an international show in Amsterdam, Prague and Vienna starting April 29, 2006. She is also a board member for Spirit of International Art and many other art groups. The mediums Anita instructs are oil,acrylics, watercolors,pastels, charcoals and finger painting. Deborah Rosetti -Artist, Art Teacher Deborah began majoring in art in 1979, after a stint in the Air Force. Worked at various art jobs, doing portraits at various souvenir establishments on the coast of Mississippi and airbrushing t-shirts. Majored in art from then to 1981, receiving an AA in fine arts from Ms Gulf Coast Jr. College in 1981. Received BS in Elem. Ed. from University of So. Ms in 1987. Taught in early elementary classrooms from grades k-5 in a regular classroom setting from 1988 to 2001. Since 2001, have certification added in art, and am teaching art at Saddlewood Elementary School for grades 1-5. Maria Bibbs -LMT,NCTMB Maria has taught classes at CFCC Continuing Education, Prestige 55, OTOW and the Artist Hub since its opening. Maria has been a massage therapist for the past 8years and can help address chronic pain on many levels, stress counseling and relaxation techniques that can help students to lead a better life. Maria teaches self massage, Self massage/accupressure, Massage Techniques for neck & shoulders and neck & back and many more. Diane Alther -LCSW, RN, C.HT - Traditional & Karuna Reiki Master/Teacher Holistic psychotherapy & Hypnosis for depression, anxiety,grief, trauma, phobias. Diane moved from NY and now has settled into Ocala to start her journey. Diane has a Reiki Circle the first Monday of the month at the Artist Hub from 1-2:30pm and please call ahead to register. Joe “Prakash” Ferrara -Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) Joe's background includes studying and practicing Hatha Yoga for 2 years in Philadelphia under Iyengar. He trained instructors before meeting Yogi Amrit Desai and training directly under this self-realized master – living, working & studying at the Amrit Yoga Institute since 2002. He has been teaching Hatha Yoga & Meditation for over 5 years, and teaching Amrit Yoga and the Posture of Consciousness as a certified Amrit Yoga Instructor since 2003. His background of training, experience & lineage brings a unique approach to Hatha Yoga that emphasizes correct alignment and posture, along with a non-competitive approach to the postures allowing one to relax into a given form rather than forcing or struggling to “get there”. Lisa Querciolli -Fitness Practioner, AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) Owner of Healthybodies Fitness, Inc. Lisa teaches a variety of classes for children and adults such as: Healthy Food Art, Healthy Kid seminars, Recipe Makeovers, How to Shop for Healthy Foods and fitness workshops.
